Thank you, Amy. This is really interesting to me. As a business owner with lots of content, why would I use Markdown files instead of just connecting my content in a drive for Claude to search?
You can absolutely connect it to Drive, depending on how you're using Claude. If you're in Claude chat and working in projects, you can either add a Markdown file to the project or connect it to the files you want it to reference in Google Drive.
Cowork works a bit differently. A Cowork project points at a folder on your computer, so your files live locally there the same way mine do.
I'm working on a guide that explains the whole system and how and why I have it set up this way.
One other thing to note is that if you're pointing Claude to a lot of files to reference, it may not know how, why, and when to apply certain knowledge. You'll want to include that in your prompts or your project instructions. I've built it into my local workstations.
I'll tag you when I publish the piece breaking down the system. There are a lot of ways to set this up and a lot of people teaching different ways. I'm going to do my best to explain the options and the pros and cons so you can choose the best setup for RW.
